Summary:
The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for the inspection and testing of sample parts from new, revised, or repaired tooling, as well as performing receiving inspection and gage calibration.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Performs random quality checks as indicated by the quality specifications; has the authority to stop production when needed to correct quality problems Utilizes the vision system inspection machines and other testing equipment as needed Completes routine auditing and inspection of quality lab to ensure compliance with manufacturing, customer and quality requirements Maintains records and procedures in compliance with all quality standards and certifications Reviews incoming product, segregates damaged / out-of-spec product when necessary and informs supervisors of any findings Initiates the non-conformance process; identifies preventive actions and continual improvement opportunities Works with QA/QC Engineers to understand all dimensional and customer specifications in order resolve any issues and updates to specific requirements Perform layout inspection (first article) on new, revised, and repaired tooling and machined parts Assist in the training and approval of production inspectors in gaging and measuring techniques and equipment Assist in the identification, labeling, and disposition of non-conforming material Perform receiving inspection on purchased and customer-supplied components, and monitor receiving inspection records Performs gage calibration and testing Be available to assist quality inspectors and final inspectors when required Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associates degree (AA) in a technical curriculum or three to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business system software and Microsoft office programs Knowledge of ISO quality standards preferred Experience using hand-held and automated measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures and micrometers Ability to read and interpret blueprints Understanding of Lean 5S principles preferred Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; able to multi-task Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, process control and calibration methods Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine and Vision Systems Must be meticulous in his/her work Strong interpersonal and communication skills ITAR Requirements:
